With over 30 years of experience in health information management, I bring a strong background in leadership, training, administration, and communication skills that are essential for leading a mission-driven organization. As an in-patient coder, I’ve developed a meticulous attention to detail and a deep understanding of systems and structure. I am known for being organized, empathetic, and highly intuitive, which allows me to connect meaningfully with individuals from all walks of life. My passion for advocacy and ability to lead with compassion will create an environment of support for estranged grandparents. I would be honored to bring my experience and dedication to this organization’s important mission.

With over 25 years of experience as an Executive Management Administrator, I bring a strong foundation in high-level executive support, complex scheduling, and the management of confidential information—all critical for leading with integrity and structure in a mission-driven environment. I hold a Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Administration and am highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, deadline management, and professional communication. My ability to coordinate logistics, streamline operations, and resolve challenges equips me to support both the internal needs of the organization and the emotional and practical concerns of estranged grandparents. I understand the importance of empathy, discretion, and advocacy in building bridges for those affected by family separation, and I am committed to using my skills to amplify their voices and needs.
Deborah Douglas

With over 20 years of experience in the UK Government, I have led strategy, operations, and business case development to support senior leaders and secure over £60 million in funding for impactful national programs. My work spans critical social issues such as Violence Against Women and Girls, school exclusions, and equitable service delivery for underserved communities. As Chair of Trustees for a nonprofit serving families and children, I provided governance and hands-on leadership to deliver safe, inclusive services. I bring a deep commitment to justice, compassion, and community, alongside professional expertise and lived experience with loss and estrangement. I am excited to contribute to the growth and long-term impact of the Corlette Malcolm Estranged Grandparent Program Corp.

Valerie Malcolm
As a graduate of John Jay College of Criminal Justice with certifications from NYU’s Real Estate Institute and Bronx Community College in Construction Management. With over 33 years of experience in community organizations, government programs, and private construction, including 15+ years as President and CEO of my own firm, I have led projects from concept to completion for affordable housing across New York City. As an estranged grandparent for over 16 years, I bring both personal insight and professional strength to support those navigating similar experiences. I understand the emotional challenges of estrangement and am deeply committed to offering compassion, advocacy, and guidance to families in need. I would welcome the opportunity to contribute my expertise and lived experience to CMEGP’s mission.
